Construction
By far the most common type of directory strip is the LAP strip as pictured above. These, along with ARROW strips, are backlit . That is designed to be illuminated from the back. They are extruded in clear acrylic and face painted an opaque black. Letters are engraved to allow light to come through, and the strips interlock to keep light from leaking in between strips.
REVEAL strips are also extruded, but in white instead of clear, and painted. Reveal strips do not interlock and are not backlit. The “step” molded into the strip is not functional, but merely creates a “reveal” sight line between the strips.
Square Cut strips are cut from the same plastic engraving stock as many of our signs. They are also not backlit. They are however available in many color combinations.
Art & Design
In house layouts, as opposed to art, are required unless no other option is available (logos for instance). If you require us to use your artwork, you will incur art charges on each strip, and you will be responsible for maintaining the directory’s consistency.
Miscellany
